We’re delighted to welcome Peter Angermund. Peter will mainly be working on our products’ GUI (Graphical User Interface). Peter complements our team with advanced system development skills. Swedish tech company arifiQ in Silicon Valley
arifiQ Development is one of five Swedish technology companies selected by Vinnova* to participate in Innovation Norway’s Tech Incubator Program (TINC). TINC is a business development program that aims to help companies grow and expand internationally. TINC takes place in Silicon Valley/San Francisco for four weeks in fall 2014.
The purpose of the month-long stay in Silicon Valley is to increase knowledge of the US printing landscape, complete a pilot installation in a domestic printing company, and generate new partnerships.
Eva Rosen – Marketing:
“It will be great fun to take a look at the US printing market. There are signs that the publishing industry in the US is facing exactly the same challenges as in Sweden. Companies need to streamline their proposal management and be available 24/7 for their customers in a much more advanced way than traditional online printers can currently offer.
We have already proven that arifiQ can easily be paired with other systems with its integration with Agfa. We are now focusing on developing more partnerships that will further facilitate the everyday life of printers around the world.
It feels like this is perfect timing, and we look forward to some very interesting and inspiring weeks in Silicon Valley.”
TINC will be held in the “Innovation House” in the heart of the Stanford campus, Palo Alto. Participation is subsidized by Almi.

arifiQ Development and Agfa Graphics offer unique integration
arifiQ Development and Agfa Graphics Sweden have entered into partnership. The two companies have integrated their systems so that printers can significantly streamline their ordering and production flow.
Agfa Graphics is a world leader in CtP offset plates and digital production systems for civil and packaging printers and the newspaper market. Agfa offers integrated prepress solutions that include production workflows, equipment, services, and supplies.
arifiQ Development is an entrepreneurial IT company, with its origins in a family-owned printing company in Sollefteå, Sweden. In just a few years, the company has developed a system for price calculations and production preparation for printing. The system has won the Vinnova Innovation award.
Agfa Graphics made contact with arifiQ Development a few months ago, and we quickly realized that Agfa’s Apogee Prepress system, which is already used by a large number of Sweden’s printers, and arifiQ work very well together. arifiQ automatically sends files directly into Apogee Prepress. This gives printing companies a seamless and automated flow from the price calculation, quotation, production, preparation, and orders directly into prepress and production. This removes the need for demanding and delicate manual tasks. The integration between the systems also reduces production time significantly.
– When the client’s needs comes first, of course you strive to give them simplicity, efficiency and reliability. These are unifying core values of both our systems, says Carina Karlsson, CEO at arifiQ.
– We share the same vision that the printing industry needs to open up and adapt to future demands for availability, speed and security. Business is done at great speed so you have to be available and work quickly, says Björn Allskog, Sales Manager Sweden/Norway at Agfa Graphics.
Agfa Graphics software is designed to easily integrate with any system that is tailored to the JDF standard. arifiQ is also built to easily interoperate with other systems.
– We quickly saw that printers would benefit from major efficiency gains if it was possible to create a seamless transition from arifiQ to Apogee Prepress, said Michael Brännback, Application Specialist at Agfa Graphics. Tests have now been carried out and the systems work extremely well together.
arifiQ Development and Agfa Graphics expect to be able to offer printers in Scandinavia this unique integration opportunity after a short period of pilot operation.
